Activity Tracking

ACTiveLog will log your speed, elevation gain, time, distance and show each activity on a map. You can even post your activity details to Facebook and Twitter or share it via emails or messages.

ACTiveLog is different from other apps. It’s not intended to inform competition, but is about community, health and infrastructure outcomes, and to help make Canberra Australia’s most walkable city and cycling capital.

Every activity counts in showing the ACT Government the demand for walking and cycling infrastructure. For instance, if we know that a large number of aged residents are walking in a particular area, this can help determine that there may be demand for additional age-friendly facilities such as seating, lighting and water stations. If we have very low numbers of elderly Canberrans walking in another area, we should further investigate why. Perhaps the paths are unsuitable, or there are poor path connections to local services.

The more we know, the more we can improve. The data may show us that Canberrans need to take lengthy detours in some areas by foot or bike if there is a lack of good path connections. The ACT Government can investigate these and determine if improved connections are needed and whether they can be provided.
